Capacity Development Workshop of Health Professional on Data Analysis and Thesis Writing

icddr,b, in collaboration with Bangladesh Perinatal Society, Bangladesh Neonatal Forum, and Department of Neonatology of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU), with support from USAID’s Research for Decision Makers organised a workshop on ‘Capacity Development Workshop of Health Professional on Data Analysis and Thesis Writing’ for the second batch from 26-28th September 2020. The workshop was designed to cover topics on literature review, basic statistics, research methodology and sample size calculation, all of which are essential for working independently on a thesis.

 

About 15 medical professionals from the different medical institutions including BSMMU, Dhaka Medical College Hospital, Dhaka Shishu Hospital, Sir Salimullah Medical College, Institute of Child and Mother Health, BIRDEM General Hospital, Center for Women and Children Health and Combined Military Hospital attended in this training.

 

 

The training workshop was facilitated by a team from icddr,b’s Maternal and Child Health Division and BSMMU. The team of trainers from icddr,b included Dr Ahmed Ehsanur Rahman, Anisuddin Ahmed, Aniqa Tasnim Hossain, Ali Ahmed, Tania Sultana Tanwi, Nowrin Nusrat, Ema Akter, Saraban Tahura Ether and Md. Hafizur Rahman. Dr M A Mannan was present during the whole session and shared his knowledge and experience with the participants on the presented topics.

 

This workshop was held at Dr Milon Hall (Extension), Block-B, BSMMU, Dhaka and a certificate giving ceremony was arranged at the end of the workshop at the presence of icddr,b’s Dr Shams El Arifeen, senior director and senior scientist and BSMMU’s Professor Dr. Mohammad Shahidullah,   chairman, Department of Neonatology. The participants and trainers shared their experience and feedback on the training at the end of the ceremony.
